Zine Release: Walking with Jazz

Author’s Note:

While I’ve been going through a burst of creativity for a few months now, nothing has come together as a full project until now. I have grown to love taking walks in my adopted city of Montréal, usually listening to jazz. Old new, whatever. As long as it’s good music, it can keep you going one step at a time even while the snow is burying you while you stand. I wanted to dedicate this to my favourite jazz musicians and my favourite city. For all those looking for a playlist, I would recommend any piece by these folk:

John Zorn, Bobbi Humphrey, Bobby McFerrin, Bobby Hutcherson, Sam Sanders, Hiromi Uehara, Thelonious Monk, Don Cherry, Miles Davis, and Matthew Shipp. Walk anywhere–your city, your road, your yard, a pier, boardwalk, shopping mall, hotel hallway (quietly), or your own room. And read this at your leisure. Please enjoy.
